Event Details

Enjoy cooking demos, lectures and free samples of goat milk cheeses, yogurts, ice creams and more at the first-ever Goat Festival – A Celebration of All Things Goat – at the Ferry Building in San Francisco on April 17th from 10am to 1pm co-hosted by CUESA.org (the Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture) and SuperGoat.org.

Ongoing from 10 am – 1 pm:
• Enjoy free samples of delicious and nutritious, award-winning goat milk cheeses, yogurts, kefirs and ice creams
• Visit the Market’s Goat Guide display table to learn more about goat producers in the market, taste goat cheeses and receive a goat cheese guide hand-out
• Bring the kids to play with Redwood Hill Farm & Creamery’s (RHF) “kids” – pet and photograph adorable baby goats in the south driveway near the Sur La Table store; learn more about the RHF’s “kids” on Facebook

10-11 am: Meet the Goat Girls

• The three founding members of consumer education group SuperGoat.org (aka the “Goat Girls) are the owner/operators of successful, sustainable, goat businesses based in Northern California. Meet them in the cooking demo area for an informative “taste & talk” and learn why goat milk is good for you and OUR planet.

11:45 am – 12:30 pm: Cooking Demo by Maggie Foard, author of Goat Cheese
12:30 – 1 pm: Talk, interview and book reading by Gordon Edgar, Author of Cheesemonger: A Life on the Wedge.
