Friday Nights at the de Young | Fall 2018
One of San Francisco’s most celebrated after-hours museum events returns for a fall season of 2018.
These nine Friday Nights feature free admission to the main-level galleries highlighted by a reinterpretation of contemporary art in their permanent collection and new acquisitions called Specters of Disruption. In addition, Friday Nights will offer reduced-price tickets of $14 to the exhibition Contemporary Muslim Fashions from 6–8:30 pm.
Through social-media moments and in-person dialogue, visitors can engage and commune with the art and with one another in a warm and welcoming setting. Enjoy specialty drinks and mocktails, coffees, teas, and snacks. Bring your friends. Strike a pose at the selfie wall. Listen to music. Make art. Activities take place from 6–8:30 pm.

Improv-o-linist Kippy Marks has been delighting audiences for over three decades and is a powerhouse of an entertainer. Kippy Marks has become one of San Francisco’s New Now Next Artist who dazzles audiences with his lively performance and Unique style. Kippy is thrilled to show his EQUALITY WITHOUT EXCEPTION through his Gift of Music at this years 2015 pride celebration.
Koret Auditorium7:00 pmWorld premiere of the documentary Juan Jaula es John Cage in the Koret Auditorium, immediately followed by a live performance of Guillermo Galindo’s interpretation of John Cage’s Variation III, played by Mariachi Nueva Generación in Wilsey Court.

Wilsey Court8:05 pmMariachi Nueva Generación will perform John Cage’s Variations III interpreted by composer Guillermo Galindo. This performance follows the world premiere of the documentary, Juan Jaula es John Cage in the Koret Auditorium.
