San Francisco Theatre Pub presents Boar’s Head, a new take on Shakespeare’s classic Henry IV plays. (This is the last performance of Theater Pub’s season)
It’s all put on in the middle of a bar for free.
In an era of political unrest and international warfare, a young prince comes of age under the wing of a jovial drunk and his entourage of petty thieves. Torn between a life of freedom and a lifetime of duty, Hal’s pathway to discovery leads him through practical jokes, family trag…edies and cavalier romance towards the ever-ambiguous happy ending of adulthood.
About The Company: SF Theater Pub
This company has specific guidelines about what kind of plays it puts on and they’re very telling. For example: Plays must be no longer than the time it takes to finish a beer. Plays must take place in a bar and must respect the bar space. Plays must have no more than three actors and at least one of the characters must be drinking a beer during the scene. The play is over when a beer is finished.
