A great place to watch the fireworks, if you don’t mind battling bridge traffic to get there,

Treasure Island July 4th Public Advisory (not yet updated for 2023)

Usually it gets very crowded on Treasure Island, and there are often many traffic restrictions that make parking next to impossible on the island. In general, Treasure Island is a much better place to watch New Year’s Eve fireworks that are set off near the Ferry Building rather than 4th of July when the fireworks are set off much further way near Pier 39.

Additionally, expect increased SFPD presence on Treasure Island that evening. Admiral Security will be patrolling the residential area as well, and can be reached at 415-760-0406 to report suspicious activity.

Some Rules about watching fireworks on Treasure Island

  • All posted “No Parking” and speed limit signage on the island must be obeyed at all times
  • Keep Treasure Island clean and taking out all garbage
  • No fireworks of any kind are allowed on Treasure Island or Yerba Buena Island
