Capitola (near Santa Cruz) hosts their 58th Annual Begonia Festival on Labor Day weekend, September 3-6, 2010 that we think is worth the drive if you’re looking for a quick weekend getaway. The free four-day festival features a Sand Sculpture Contest, Horseshoe Tournament on the Sand, Begonia Festival Parade, Fishing Derby & Rowboat Races, movie night on the beach and more.
