City Impact’s Thanksgiving Day Outreach 2021
San Francisco City Impact is reaching out to the Tenderloin community by handing out food to the homeless, delivering meals to apartment buildings and hosting a kid’s carnival for the children of the Tenderloin.

SF-Marin Food Bank 2021
SF-Marin Food Bank distributed 1.3 million meals every week. Make a hands-on difference by volunteering in the warehouse or in the community. Learn more about volunteer opportunities . – Confirmed as of 11/10/2021

Glide Thanksgiving Meals 2021
Put on your apron and come to GLIDE to help chop, dice, mix and slice in preparation for their Annual Thanksgiving Day breakfast or lunch and come serve nearly 2,500 complete Thanksgiving meals with all the fixings to individuals and families.

Project Open Hand 2021
Join Project Open Hand this Thanksgiving in providing meals with love to our sick and elderly neighbors. During the week of Thanksgiving, volunteers will help prepare, assemble, and distribute 2,500 nutritious meals and nearly 200 bags of healthy groceries each day.

Salvation Army Meal Delivery 2021
Help deliver Thanksgiving Day meals to 4,000 homebound individuals. Volunteers positions available: Greeters, Check-in, Traffic Control, Load-in, and Deliveries. Drivers must provide their own vehicle and bring along at least one passenger. Shifts take no more than 3 hours each. All deliveries occur within San Francisco.
Thursday, November 25, 2021 | Shifts from 6 am to 1 pm | Harbor Light Center, 1275 Harrison Street, San Francisco.

Little Brothers: Friends of the Elderly 2021
Make a difference in an elder’s day and sign up to help delivey meals to LBFE’s older adults. Meal pick ups will be at the Rosa Park Elementary school’s parking lot at the corner of Hollis and Ellis in San Francisco. On Thanksgiving, join an older adult in a virtual or phone call from 11 am to 1 pm.

Meals on Wheels’ Thanksgiving Day Card Marking 2021
Meals on Wheels is not hosting their traditional Thanksgiving meal delivery volunteer opportunity this year, but you can still make a meaningful impact by participating in Thanksgiving Day holiday card making. Help us bring a smile to a senior’s face (and yours too) by making handmade Thanksgiving cards. 4,500handmade cards will be delivered to homebound seniors.

SPCA Holiday Windows at Macy’s – Unconfirmed for 2021 (last checked 11/10/21)
In past years, volunteers help spread holiday cheer at the annual holiday SPCA pop-up adoption center at Macy’s. Although the adoption center is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas day, it’s open every other day for the holidays. However in 2020, the holiday pet adoption windows did not take place due to the pandemic. We’re not sure if they’re taking place in 2021. 

Gobble Gobble Give – Cancelled for 2021
Unfortunately due to the ongoing pandemic, Gobble Gobble Give’s Feed the Homeless on Thanksgiving morning won’t be taking place in San Francisco in 2021. In past years, volunteers come together to gather dry goods, box warm food, and walk the streets of their community to hand out care packages to homeless individuals and families.
