I am not allowed to swim, ski, ride a bike, play musical instruments, practice gymnastics or any other sports–Anonymous Muslim woman.

This witty independent film examines the cultural clash between an independent young Muslim women in San Francisco who rebels against her traditional family’s plans for an arranged marriage. The filmmaker, who has 4 sisters, has seen both sides of the story. As a doctor in Pakistan , Hassan Zee spent time in a hospital burn unit, helping women , who because of low dowries or inability to bear children , were tragically burned. In Bicycle Bride, he shows us the changing face of Muslim women, using the bicycle as a metaphor.

Question and Answer with the filmmaker following the film both evenings.

This is a free event presented by Workspace Limited with a suggested donation of $5-$10 for drinks and snacks.
