Summer Bonfire Night: Potluck, Games & DJ | Ocean Beach

Get out to Ocean Beach and enjoy a beautiful evening of a bonfire, games, songs and interesting conversation.

FREE but bring firewood, drinks and a potluck dish to share

Enjoy the beautiful beach while DJ Jerry Ross keeps the party going, spinning the turntables into the night. There will be good times all around, as you roast marshmallows, sing songs, toss the football in the sand, and even hula hoop.

The reserved spot is usually on the beach between stairwells 16-20 across from Beach Chalet restaurant. The stairwell location will be announced at the day of the event. Check the Facebook event page for an update on the exact location.

This is a potluck event with great people and good eats all by the fire. In the past, the smorgasbord of dishes has been amazing. Please bring a dish. A potluck thread is listed in the Facebook event.

Feel free to bring any games you would like to play.

Wood burns very quickly, and depending upon the number of people attending, they may need two pits. They request that everyone must bring firewood. Often you’ll find free firewood on Craigslist. The Safeway by the beach sells firewood as well. Duraflame logs are not permitted.

Things to remember:

– Dress in layers for it does get cold on the beach as the evening progresses
– Bring a chair or blanket to sit on
– Bring gloves, a scarf, and a warm hat, just in case
– Bring your own beverages. They will have water and many may bring other drinks for the potluck.
– Keep in mind, glass is not permitted on the beach
