Cultivate Festival: Live Music, Chef Demos & Free Samples | Golden Gate Park
>> Want to see our Top Picks for this week instead?
Hellman Hollow | John F. Kennedy Drive and Transverse Drive, San Francisco, CA
Like live music and (somewhat) affordable food? Then join 15,000+ in Golden Gate Park for a free one-day food, music and beer festival with cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs, live music, local food artisans, regional beer and wines, a special Chipotle festival menu.
The musical lineup features an excellent lineup of indie pop-rockers including Mayer Hawthorne (6:15p), The Walkmen (4:45p), Walk the Moon (3:15p), LP (1:45p), and Matt Costa (12:15p).
It’s all part of Chipotle’s charm offensive to help grease the wheels and make SF more accepting of their plans of opening up a store in the Castro.
In addition to live music and on-site chef demonstrations, there are six interactive experiences focused on sustainable food. There’s an Artisans’ Hall serving up local artisan-crafted food for free sampling (and for purchase) a Brewers’ Hall serving local and specialty beers and wines.
Guest Chef Lineup
Participants in Cultivate San Francisco include chefs Richard Blais (The Spence, HD1, and Flip Burger Boutique in Atlanta); Michael Chiarello (Bottega in Napa Valley and Coqueta in San Francisco); Amanda Freitag (Food Network’s “Chopped” and “The Next Iron Chef”); Bryan Petroff and Doug Quint of Big Gay Ice Cream (New York); and more.
How much does it cost?
Admission is free, but bring cash for food. They’ll be serving a variety of Chipotle-inspired food for $5 a plate including grilled flatbread gordita; chicken and Sofritas tacos; charred esquites salad; and a jasmine rice bowl with pork and chicken meatballs or organic tofu from ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen, our Asian concept. Additionally, craft beer and wine will be available for $6 a glass and the price of artisan offerings will vary by vendor.
Earn a Free Chipotle Burrito
Visit the six experiences around the festival, learn from what they have to offer, and get your program stamped. Once you’ve completed at least four, bring your program to the Info Tent and you’ll receive a coupon for a free burrito, bowl, salad or order of tacos at any Chipotle.
