Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Tribute Concert

Celebrate the life of Warren Hellman with a free all-day Ocean Beach concert | Sun. 2/19

Join thousands of music fans and over a dozen artists to celebrate the life of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass benefactor Warren Hellman who passed away in December.

A public celebration and two stages of live music will take place on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Ocean Beach with musicians near and dear to Warren’s heart including Emmylou Harris, Gillian Welch, Boz Skaggs and more.

Warren Hellman Public Celebration
– Sunday, February 19, 2012 (11a-6p) – Gates Open: 8am
– Ocean Beach Parking Lot (Great Hwy bwn JFK Drive and Lincoln – opposite of Beach Chalet)
FREE, subject to capacity

Please be advised that when the event site reaches capacity there will be queue lines on JFK Dr. and Lincoln Blvd

The performances will alternate between two stages – a northern Banjo Stage and a southern Arrow Stage. Exact times are not available and lineup / order is subject to change.

Getting There: Please note that due to weather concerns, the concert does not take place at Hellman Hollow in Golden Gate Park, but instead takes place in the Ocean Beach parking lot opposite of Golden Gate Park. Parking will be extremely limited, so taking muni is highly encouraged.
– Self Bike Parking – Great Hwy just south of JFK – North of concert
– Valet bike parking – Great Hwy just north of Lincoln – South of concert
Muni: Best routes are the 5, 18, 31 and N Judah, with the 29 and 38 good if you don’t mind a long walk.

Donations? In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the San Francisco Free Clinic, The Bay Citizen, and the San Francisco School Alliance. Also, consider a donation of blood or platelets to your local blood bank.
