IAMSOUND Records is hosting another series of free shows in the swanky Velvet Room and Redwood Room of San Francisco’s Clift Hotel in June, July and August of 2011. Bands include Mark Gardener (from Ride), Cults and Dirty Beaches along with guest DJs.
July 16: Groovy synth pop band Kisses with DJ Hands
Kisses wasn’t on the original Clift Sessions schedule and has just been added.
About Kisses: Kisses, as befits their name, are awfully cute. Their music, a plinky, stripped-down take on swoony synth-pop, is a sort of lovers’ rock; hat in hand, frontman Jesse Kivel musters the best chorus on The Heart of the Nightlife when he asks the object of his affection– that’d be bandmate Zinzi Edmundson– out for a nice steak dinner, just her and him.
