>> Want to see our Top Picks for this week instead?
Saturday, January 29, 2011 - 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm | Cost: $3*
*$3-$5 donation but no one turned away...SO COME

The East Bay Free Skool folks are putting on a benefit to help print calendars for their upcoming slate of free classes given throughout the East Bay and to help pay for more places they can teach at.

There’ll be six bands playing and you can give anywhere from $3 to $5 and it goes to a really worthy cause. Not bad. And if you don’t have any money, come anyway. You can find out about the program and listen to cool music. Speaking of which…

For Your Listening Pleasure:

  • Androgynous Elk (look out! punk!)
  • Detach Dolls (East Bay Femme Punx)
  • The Gregors (Hearts of Soul)
  • Laughing Prophets (Ex Abstersion)
  • For Fear the Hearts of Men Are Failing (City Music)
  • Zachary Alan Stewart (Acoustic for the Rev)

About The East Bay Free Skool:

Everybody has something to teach and something to learn. We just make those connections in a non-commercial setting. By stepping out of our traditional teacher/pupil roles, we can strengthen self-reliance and the DIY (do-it-yourself) ethic.

Anyone can teach a class in anything they want. The instructor finds a space in house, park, or community center, or gets help finding a space from people who help with organizing the free skool.
