Free Hot Dog Day | Inner Richmond
Sadly, the Frankenart Mart closed in February 2016 after 10 fun years.
The Frankenart Mart is a quirky “only in San Francisco” type of art gallery in the Inner Richmond. Not only do they have curious one-of-a-kind participatory art projects, but once a month there’s free hot dogs. Cat hair toppings are available.
Keep in mind, this is a teeny tiny (250 sq. feet) art gallery. So if you’re interested in strange and wonderful little art projects, this is a fun place to spend part of your Sunday and munch on a free dog.
What better way to celebrate our nation’s birthday with a free hot dog? Frankenart Mart hooks you up with a free beef or veggie dogs to all visitors who want one. There’s a bit of a rivalry going on between the two – scorewise. Beef usually dominates but veggie can sometimes rally.
There will also be a hot dog drawing contest in celebration of Independence Day. The democratically elected wiener will be featured on an in-mart souvenir. Everyone is invited to enter. The Hot Wheels Holy Mountain will also be up and running and crashing, so be ready to do play with hot wheels. Again, please note that the track is not suitable for tiny tots as there are lots of pokey things. Unsupervised, hyperactive children will be turned into hot dogs and served to the masses.
Please note, this is a special July 4th “Hot Dog Day” so it’s being held on Saturday instead of their usual monthly first Sunday Free Hot Dog Day.
