Jack London Square | Broadway and Embarcadero, Oakland, CA

Free Seasonal Cooking Demo & Tasting | Jack London Square

With more than 40 vendors, the Jack London Square Farmers Market offers local produce, food craft products, and breakfast and lunch options.

The Jack London Square Farmers Market is operated by CUESA at Oakland’s Jack London Square on Sundays from 9 am to 2 pm, year round, rain or shine. Founded in 1989, the Jack London Square Farmers Market has deep roots in Oakland, providing a vibrant waterfront marketplace of local farms, food crafters, and restaurants for Bay Area families.

Starting Sunday, April 23, 2017, the new farmers market hours will be 10 am to 3 pm.

On most Sunday, free cooking demos take place at the CUESA Classroom (adjacent to the info booth at Broadway & Water Street) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.

Join them at CUESA’s Jack London Square Farmers Market in Oakland for a Market to Table Cooking Demonstration with Maria Capdevielle of Maria Teresa’s Kitchen featuring the seasonal bounty of the Jack London Square Farmers Market.

Maria Teresa Capdevielle is the author of “The Secrets of Baking with Olive oil,” a professional pastry chef, and a culinary chef/instructor from Abruzzo, Italy. Her local experience includes V-Sattui, The Rose Pistola, The Waterfront, The Market Hall, The Townhouse Grill & Restaurant, and a stint at the famed Chez Panisse in Berkeley, where she learned about hand-selecting and gently preparing perfect produce from Alice Waters. She also consults for small restaurants and wineries to help them develop their dessert menu and train their teams.

All demos take place at the CUESA Classroom (in the Palm Plaza at Embarcadero West and Webster Street, adjacent to the Info Booth) and are free and open to the public, with samples and recipes for all.
