Event Details

Gather with locals to watch a green documentary, Bag It, a 45 minute award-winning movie about the hazards of plastic bags.

Light snacks will be served.

Bag It: Is Your Life Too Plastic? started as a documentary about plastic bags and evolved into an investigation into plastics and their effect on our waterways, the ocean and the human body. Studies show that the average Californian uses 500 bags a year, many of which end up in landfills and waterways.

The movie will be followed by a brief discussion of the impending San Mateo County and Burlingame bag ordinances that will be led by Dean Peterson, San Mateo County Director of Environmental Health.
