Salute the memories of supervisor Harvey Milk and mayor George Moscone at the 35th annual Vigil & Night of Remembrance on November 27, 2013 on the steps of City Hall at 4:30 pm with the families of Moscone and Milk and a performance by Gay Men’s Chorus followed by candlelight march to the Castro beginning at 5:30 pm ending up at the Harvey Milk’s old camera store.
For 2013, there are two events on the same night: one at 4:30 pm at City Hall with a march to the Castro and then another at 7 pm at Castro/Market with a march back to City Hall. If you don’t mind walking and have a lot of candles, you can always do both.
The event commemorates the lives and untimely deaths of these two extraordinary individuals on the anniversary of their assassinations in 1978 and commemorating the spontaneous candlelight march the night of the shootings.
