Golden Gate Fields | 1100 Eastshore Hwy, Berkeley CA
Dress up in bowties, seersucker suits, fedoras, big hats, and sundresses and head out to Golden Gate Fields on Kentucky Derby Day, May 4, 2013.
Enjoy a day at the races, play the ponies, sip mint juleps (for purchase), and bring a hat for the annual Run for the Roses Hat Contest.
They are giving away cash to the top three hats in each category: First Place – $300, Second Place – $200, Third Place – $100.
Sign up by 1:30pm on May 4, 2013 and compete in three hat categories:
- Funniest and Most Outrageous
- Best Racing Theme
- Most Glamorous
Free Shuttle to the races: Take BART to the North Berkeley station and their free shuttle will take you to and from the races.
General admission is just $6 and kids admission is free. (Club House admission is $8 and Turf Club admission is $15).
