Kinetic Steam Works | 2525 Mandela Parkway, Oakland
Kinetic Steam Works, West Oakland’s very own steam headquarters is celebrating with an all day festival of steam-powered contraptions and monsters.
Meet “Hortense,” the 15-ton Case steam tractor, “Wilhemina,” the 46-foot stern wheel paddle boat, a wicked water cannon, and more vintage steam equipment to geek out on. A hand-cranked replica of a French guillotine will also be making an appearance, so bring your old jack o’lanterns.
There will be plenty of cottony cloud soft steam, food, beer/wine, a silent auction, mechanical entertainments mammoth and bijou, craft vendors, and live music.
