11-9-2009 5-28-24 PMKinetic Steam Works, West Oakland’s very own steam headquarters, is celebrating its new status as a non-profit (501 c3) with an all day festival (noon to 10pm).  Meet “Hortense,” the 15-ton Case steam tractor, “Wilhemina,” the 46-foot stern wheel paddle boat, a wicked water cannon, and more vintage steam equipment to geek out on.

Grown ups can enjoy refreshments made by the legendary steam-powered margarita maker.

A hand-cranked replica of a French guillotine will also be making an appearance, so bring your old jack o’lanterns.
