Macy’s Great Tree Lighting 2012 | Union Square

Macy’s Great Tree in Union Square, San Francisco’s most recognized Christmas tree will be officially lit in Union Square on November 23, 2012.

This year, Chris Mann of The Voice will perform music from his new album that will soon be released, “Home for Christmas”, featuring songs such as White Christmas, I’ll Be Home for Christmas and Ave Maria. This year’s 80-foot Fir tree will be covered in 21,000 energy-efficient twinkling LED lights.

Santa Claus will lead thousands of holiday revelers in a spirited countdown before throwing the switch to light the tree.

Beneficiary
For the ninth year, Macy’s has made UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital the beneficiary of its annual tree lighting. Donations to Benefit the UCSF Benioff Hospital for Pediatric Cancer Research – Stop by the Aflac tent and purchase a Macy’s Aflac duck which 100% of the net proceeds will be donated.
