Original Famous Twang Sundays is a free, all-ages concert series at Thee Parkside in Potrero Hill.

Come by every Sunday; there’s always a fresh traditional or contemporary live act and a surprise special to purchase from the kitchen.

Sunday, November 23rd, Original Famous Twang Sundays welcomes Moonshine Maybelline and The Spectones into Thee Parkside.

Out of the heart of San Francisco comes Moonshine Maybelline, featuring veterans of the local music scene in a brand-new country-rockin’ formation. The twangfest got started in 2013 when powerhouse vocalist Catherine Foreman (Starlene, Doomsday Cafe) teamed up with The GoldDiggers’ Bob Spector and Ted O’Connell to rock out on the country songbook of Linda Ronstadt. The focus soon turned to original material and the band lineup was fleshed out with Ian Sutton on pedal steel and Robin Roth on drums. The band has wowed audiences with their in-studio concert on KALX Radio and appearances at Pixar Animation Studios, Lagunitas Brewing Co., and nightclubs in SF, Marin and the East Bay. This March the band will be rockin’ the socks off of Austin, Texas at the upcoming SXSW Music Convention. If you’re a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll, you won’t want to miss Moonshine Maybelline.

The Spectones is a rock ‘n roll trio from San Francisco, CA. Singer/guitarist Bob Spector and bass player Rich Shiro have been in a string of bands together since the late ’80s including The Culprits, Buzzard’s Luck and The Drunkees. Together with drummer John Lakian, The Spectones have performed throughout the Bay Area performing obscure and classic rock songs from the ’50s through the ’90s.
