Pride Celebration and Rally
June 28-29, 2025 | 11am-6pm
Civic Center Plaza, San Francisco
FREEThe 55th annual San Francisco Pride Celebration is Saturday, June 28th and Sunday June 29th, 2025 at Civic Center Plaza, in front of historic San Francisco City Hall. The Pride Parade is Sunday, June 29th, 2025.For 55 years our diverse and spirited community has gathered on the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall uprising to demonstrate to the world who we are and what we stand for. We have marched to demand our rights and freedoms, and we have marched to honor our dead-–all the while celebrating our lives and loves in an explosion of queer joy and creativity. With hard-won LGBTQ freedoms being stripped away, and oppression of our people growing ever more extreme across the globe, we must all come together to demonstrate our resolve to be unapologetically queer. Whether it’s your first time ever, or for the first time in a long time, make plans to join us in the streets at San Francisco Pride.55th Annual SF Pride Parade and March
Sunday, June 29, 2025.| Starting at 10:30 AM*
Market Street from Embarcadero / Beale to 8th Street ending at Civic Center
FREEThe Pride Parade will be on on June 29, 2025. *Typically, the parade begins at 10:30am and heads down Market Street from Embarcadero to the Celebration at Civic Center (around 8th). The parade has over 200 contingents and may go on for over 4 hours.
With over 200 parade contingents and exhibitors, and 4-5 different stages (depending on the day), the San Francisco Pride Celebration and Parade remains the largest gathering of the LGBTQ+ community and allies in the nation.
The night before the Pride Parade, The Pink Party typically takes over the streets of the Castro by closing them to cars and then pumping multiple sound stages to celebrate a long-time tradition of fabulous, queer parties, but… unfortunately in 2016 the party is cancelled.
From SFist: “Coordinated and run by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence since 1995, the group last year declined to continue organizing the event as incidents of violence and the growing need for security made it an increasingly costly — not to mention an at times gay-unfriendly — affair. Last year (you surely remember) the LGBT Community Center swooped in, renamed the event Pink Party (because the Sisters are holding onto the Pink Saturday name), and held it earlier in the day. The Center is unable to do so this year, Castro Supervisor Scott Wiener told the BAR, and no other organization has offered to deal with it either.”
