Event Details

RenFam will be gathering at the west end of Marina Green Park in San Francisco on Friday August 25th at 4pm to preempt the following Saturday’s scheduled demonstration of hate at with a meeting of minds and hearts in the name of Art – via music, compassion, and Love in action.

Meeting early in the outers to make organic pb&j sandwiches that we will then pass on throughout the city to people in need.

As we offer food, we will also distribute fliers inviting folks of any and all sexes, sexual orientations, sizes, shapes, and colors to our gathering to share a free meal. In addition to the sandwiches that will be prepared in the morning, we will host an organic vegetarian soup kitchen at Marina Green Park, offering free, healthy meals to any hungry person who needs or desires one.

Please bring your voices, songs, instruments, friends, positive attitudes, and/or any extra organic veggies that you may be able to offer to the kitchen. Please also bring anything you’d like to offer in donation to the free store for anyone in need who attends the gathering – including but not limited to – shoes, clothing, blankets, sleeping bags, outdoor gear, hygeine products, and bonus food.

We plan to stand united until nightfall, when we will march to Crissy Field in solidarity to join the People’s Town Hall Candelight Vigil for Charlottesville victim Heather Heyer (bring only electronic candle substitutes – flashlights, electronic candles, etc – as live flames are not permitted for this event).

When interviewed after the murder in Charlottesville, several members of the alt-right group that was demonstrating claim it was counter-protestors’ mocking and violent methods of counter-protest that provoked and then escalated their demonstration into an event that ultimately claimed the life of Heather Heyer and injured 19 others…

At their root, all humans are beautiful creatures on a long, confusing, and often lonely path to that very self-realization. Until one learns to see the beauty in themselves, they can’t truly see or celebrate it in others.

These alt right neo-nazis have much to learn, but using violence in protest of their ignorance is sure to teach them nothing, and may in fact get more innocent people injured or killed.

Let us then unite at Marina Green Park on Friday, Aug 25 in peace to celebrate life and together work at creating a better, safer, future for our city in the face of a nation usurped by chaos.
