Amoeba Music: Free In-Store Mini Concerts

Amoeba Music regularly welcomes traveling and local artists for in-store performances at their San Francisco and Berkeley locations.

Hear your favorite artists for free often right before they hit the stage elsewhere in the Bay Area.

Join Vum at Amoeba SF for a live set and signing of their third album.

When Jennifer Pearl returned home from studying science in French Polynesia, armed with field recordings of street musicians, church choirs, and roosters, Vum wrote their first full-length album, Night Sun.

Described as “noirishly psychedelic” by W Magazine, Vum is more of an invasive species in the ancestral home of the Oak Grove People — a place known more for country rock and peyote chewing hippies than post-punk and coldwave inspired sounds.

Vum’s third album, Cryptocrystalline, is named after the natural phenomena that occurs when an orderly, molecular structure exists in rocks, but is not immediately apparent to the naked eye. In this age of protests, revolutions, and international warfare, surveillance, war, possession, and dashed California dreams all serve as inspiration for this album.
