2016 SF Bay Flyway Festival & Wildlife Expo | North Bay

Wildlife enthusiasts will gather together from all parts of the Bay Area for the 20th Annual Flyway Festival with a Family Wildlife and Birding Expo and a full weekend of guided hikes and outings, tours and workshops on Mare Island.

The festival celebrates the migration through San Francisco Bay of more than 1 million shorebirds and hundreds of thousands of ducks, geese, hawks, songbirds and other wildlife at the peak of migration. In the North Bay, much of the wildlife habitat is off-limits except during the Flyway Festival.

The event is held in a concrete munitions storage magazine measuring 55’x100′ with ceilings over 15′. The architecture of the building traps sound resulting in a prolonged reverberation. The series launched its first show in February 2015 as part of the San Francisco Bay Flyway Festival, celebrating the annual bird migration to the Bay. http://www.re-sound.net/ Repeats Sunday, Feb 21, 3:30 pm-7:00 pm
