17th Annual Indonesian Day Celebration | Union Square

Indonesian Day 2010 will feature performance of traditional and contemporary Indonesian dances and music from various Indonesian islands, most notably Bali, Java, Sulawesi, Sumatra and Kalimantan.  Well known singers, dancers and musicians from Indonesia will join local talents for a full day of fun and exciting performances.  Indonesian cuisine from local restaurants will be on hand to enhance the authenticity of the atmosphere.

This year’s theme will be called “LAWANG” (Javanese/Sanskrit word for “Gateway” or “Passageway” in English). Through this gateway, we are inviting people to peek into our life and culture here in the US as well back in Indonesia .
