Celebrate Earth Day, National Park Week, and the National Park Service Centennial with the National Park Service and Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy for a Find Your Park Day of Service at two beautiful locations within Golden Gate National Recreation Area on Saturday, April 16th, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Free, but an RSVP is required.
Just across the Golden Gate Bridge nestled within the foothills of Marin Headlands, Tennessee Valley is known for its abundant wildlife and gorgeous landscapes. Volunteers will enhance rare native plant habitats, restore trails, maintain park grounds, and create important wildlife corridors.
Free lunch and t-shirts will be provided for all volunteers. A free volunteer shuttle will depart from the San Francisco Ferry Building promptly at 8:30 am. (located only one block from the Embarcadero BART stop). Shuttle will return to BART from Tennessee Valley following the event.
Where: Tennessee Valley Trailhead. 701 Tennessee Valley Road, Mill Valley, CA 94941.
The site is off Highway 101 Exit 445B. Volunteers will meet at the parking lot at the end of Tennessee Valley Road. Parking is limited, so please carpool, bike, hike, or take the free volunteer shuttle from San Francisco.What to Bring: Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes, preferably work boots or sturdy sneakers, and bring a reusable water bottle. The event will take place rain or shine so please dress for the weather!
SCA will provide lunch and snacks for all volunteers, as well as project materials, gloves, and free Find Your Park t-shirts.
