Washington Square Park Reopens After 6 Months
San Francisco’s Washington Square Park – one of the city’s first parks, established in 1847 – is finally reopening after a nearly 6-month closure for construction.
Join us on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 beginning at 4 p.m. to celebrate the reopening of Washington Square Park (Filbert and Stockton streets). The project reduces the park’s existing irrigation water use to conserve 2 million gallons per year and improves saturated soil conditions throughout the park.
There will be a ribbon-cutting and brief remarks at the park, followed by a reception with light refreshments with music at the San Francisco Athletic Club (1630 Stockton Street). Learn more at SF Rec and Park.
