Join The Crucible on April 3rd for their first-ever virtual artist talk with Oakland repujado artist, Rachel-Anne Palacios. She’ll discuss her metal embossing practice and how her work reflects themes of culture, religion, traditional values, family, and the cycle of life and death.
Rachel-Anne Palacios an Oakland-native, is a self-taught, multicultural artist, with many ties to the city’s cultural diversity. Much of her early exposure to art was influenced by her grandmother who encouraged her to make work using objects around the house, including tin foil–an early precursor to her current work with repujado and metal embossing.
Please join us on Zoom for this virtual artist talk.
