120 RVs and Trailers To Become Homeless Shelters in Bayview
Thank you to the SF Chronicle for letting us know that 120 trailers and RVs will house homeless at Bayview Pier during the coronavirus crisis.
By mid- May, Bayview’s Pier 94 will be transformed into COVID-19 Homeless Shelter. In addition to moving almost 1,000 people into hotel rooms, The City of San Francisco will set up 120 trailers and RVs will serve vulnerable homeless residents in the Bayview during this pandemic.
“This site will provide a safe place for people who are homeless in the southeast part of the city. And I want to be clear, these RVs will serve the Bayview and Hunters Point community,” – San Francisco Mayor London Breed
Street counselors will choose and select people from street camps and shelters in the area. Homeless people with underlying conditions that make them extra vulnerable to the coronavirus will be prioritized.
In addition to moving almost 1,000 people into hotel rooms, we’re creating additional alternative housing sites in the City.
