Museum Hosts Public Art Conversation
Thirteen works of public art, including vibrant murals and augmented reality experiences, enhance downtown Los Altos These installations and the significance of public art will be explored in Los Altos History Museum’s program, “Arts Los Altos: Connecting Community with Public Art,” on August 15 from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm.
Maddy McBirney and Karen Zucker, Co-Directors of Arts Los Altos, will lead the discussion, encouraging attendees to share their ideas and questions about public art. The event will cover the installation process, artist submissions, and the educational and joyful impact of public art. The Museum’s Geschke Gallery will feature projections of commissioned artworks, videos of artists at work, and drone footage of the downtown public art. Additionally, short videos of Arts Los Altos’ walking tours created by two Los Altos High School students will be displayed.
The program is sponsored by the Anne Wojcicki Foundation. Refreshments will be served. Registration is required, with a fee of $15 per person and free admission to Museum members.
