As both performing artist and self-described technician of the accordion, Joe Domitrowich’s technical mastery of the modern-day accordion, and his innovative and capricious styling coalesce to render his performances both challenging and entertaining.
Embracing the nostalgic, old-world timbre of the accordion’s reeds, Joe often orchestrates the sounds from a variety of musical instruments into his arrangements, sometimes covering the roles of all the instruments in an ensemble or band. These arrangements he then performs live on a single instrument without the use of pre-recorded tracks. In this way, Joe preserves the spontaneity and “life” in his music, creating a truly unique experience that captivates audiences at public events, intimate family gatherings, or novelty concerts.
