It’s Mars, moonwalking and a MythBuster at One City One Book’s conversation between Mary Roach and Adam Savage on Wednesday, November 2 at the SF Main Library.
Spend your evening listening to best-selling, Oakland-based author Roach discuss her newest book Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in the Void, which is about what it’s like to live in space and the science behind life in among the stars, with Discovery Channel star Savage.
Also get there early to see the premiere of “Rockets of Yesterday,” an eye-popping video tour of 1950s and 60s rocket dreams, and to make sure you snag a seat when doors open at 5:45, as space in the auditorium is limited.
About One City One Book 2011: (9/6 to 11/12) One City One Book is an annual literary event that encourages community members to read the same book and discuss it at events throughout the city.
Similar to a giant, citywide book club, this year’s program is focused on local author Mary Roach’s “Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in the Void,” and will feature book readings, space-themed movie screenings and more, as well as open discussions all over the city through November 12th .
