Noise Pop 2020 Music & Art Festival | SF

The Noise Pop Festival is San Francisco’s (and Funcheap’s) favorite indie music and art festival.

Now in its 28th year, Noise Pop has brought early exposure to many emerging artists in the Bay Area and beyond, many of whom have gone on to widespread acclaim like Raphael Saadiq, Benjamin Gibbard, Maya Jane Coles, Best Coast, Duster, Washed Out and Helado Negro.

Over the course of a week, from Monday, February 24 to Sunday, March 1, 2020 transforms the Bay Area into a festival ground with multiple events taking place across the city each night.

Free Events

While most events are ticketed, there are a few free events including Happy Hour concerts at Bender’s Bar (Feb 25-29), a Photo Retrospective at Hotel Biron (Feb 24) and two late night after-hours secret concerts at Cafe du Nord (Feb 28-29).

The first Noise Pop Happy Hour of 2014 happens at Bender’s Bar from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2014.

Featured acts include:

CCR Headcleaner
It’ll rope you in with layers of vocals and harmonies and sharp, sneaky hooks. It’ll blow you away with explosive breakdowns and pounding rhythms. It will lift you to the heavens and lay with you in the gutter. One of San Francisco’s best and brightest will make you forget about all of the bands that broke your heart and moved to LA.

Skate Laws
Prepare for a harsh toke. Three dark drippers with a penchant for hideous echo, 1980s hardcore, and tangled VHS do three things very well: yelling, bass feedback, and wild drumming. It’s a real web of crawlies in this sweatbox.

Bicycle Day
Austin Ehrhardt (guitar/ vox) and Ronnie Langford (drums/ Vox). The dynamic created by this band’s unmatched on stage and off-stage chemistry creates high-energy surfy- garage-punk stompers which will “melt your face off.” Now with the recent addition of third bicycle wheel “Hashtag” Samuel Gans on bass guitar, the sexual tension between the three members has increased exponentially resulting in “concussion-inducing” live performances by the college-aged Berkeley based trio.
