Event Details

The second annual Upcycle Ball features a mobile bike shop, workshops, cycle experiences, a silent auction, beer, music and food, plus a parts drive, all on April 6, 2013.

This event works like a carnival, where you buy tickets ($1 = one ticket) and redeem them for all kinds of fun, food, drinks and games. The event supports SF Yellow Bike, a community bike shop that transforms donations into rideable bicycles for the Bay Area.

2013 Upcycle Ball

Part 1 – Workshops, Cycle Experiences, Silent Auction 6-10pm

  • Mobile Bike Shop (MBS) demos and hands-on tutorials, such as patching tubes, repacking a wheel and more
  • Silent Auction
  • Roaming Photoframe – Find their roaming picture frame and have their resident photog, Jillian Betterly, capture you in all your bikey hotness.
  • Screen Printing DIY – Pick one of several limited edition graphics and sport it on almost whatever you want, but cotton or natural fibers are best for the process.
  • Shibori Dying – Aline will be using Shibori dying techniques in conjunction with used bike parts to hand dye your item. She will be using all natural indigo dye, so lighter colored natural fibers/cotton items are best for this experience.

  • Beer for purchase from Speakeasy Ales & Lagers
