Event Details

Come out this Saturday to Bernal Hill and join our SFRPD’s Natural Areas staffer Rachel Kesel for our monthly work party and special wildflower walk.

We’ll look at early wildflowers, including a locally rare population of star lilies (Zigadenus fremontii) and other current bloomers including Footsteps-of-Spring, Lomatium, Shooting Star and a few Suncups. We’ll talk about some history on the hill and current challenges to conserving these wildflower populations in our dense urban environment.

Meet us at 10 a.m. at the South gate of Bernal Hill for our volunteer workday and/or join us at 11:30 a.m. as we depart for our walk from this same location, which is near Anderson Street, next to the only water fountain in the park.

Showers ok, steady rain cancels.

For more information or to RSVP you can email rachel.kesel@sfgov.org or call (415) 831-6332.
