Event Details

Tracey Helton Mitchell wrote The Big Fix: Hope after Heroin after surviving nearly a decade of drug abuse and hard living on the streets in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco.

As heroin addiction reaches epidemic proportions across the country, Mitchell provides a poignant perspective on rebuilding her life, while exposing the failings of the American rehab system.

From re-learning how to deal with everything from money to friendships, The Big Fix describes the unique challenges faced by women caught in the grip of substance abuse.
