During Raising the Bar, 20 bars across San Francisco will feature 20 professors. It’s like a free TED Talk while you drink Old Fashioneds at a bar. Pretty neat, right?
Bars include bars all over the city in different neighborhoods including PianoFight, The Wreck Room, Aventine, The Slate Bar, 15 Romolo, Maven and more.

- Law in outer space
- Sustainable investment
- Why progressives (almost) always lose
- Race, sex and gender in the U.S.
- Bioethics of the living, dead and unborn
- Israeli-Palestinian peace
- Conspiracy of capital
- Evolution of celebrity culture
RTB is a worldwide initiative aimed at making education a part of a city’s popular culture. Their first event drew over 6,000 New Yorkers to 50 different bars throughout the city. The night was a smashing success, garnering extensive media coverage like Huffington and The Guardian.
