2017 Hot Air Balloon Classic at Sonoma County

Set your alarm early and make the beautiful drive to the north coast for the annual Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Classic in wine country. You’ll be treated to the dawn balloon launch off a field full of classic and character shaped hot air balloons. And hey, on the way home you can treat yourself to some wine tasting.

27th Annual Sonoma Country Hot Air Balloon Classic
June 10-11, 2017 | 4-10:30 am (yup, it’s that early)
Kaiser Park, 640 Windsor River Rd, Windsor
Tickets: Pre-purchase adult $15; child $5. At the door: adult $20; child $5. Children 2 and under are free.

2017 Schedule of Events
Saturday and Sunday

  • 4 am – Gates Open
  • 5 am – Dawn Patrol – Balloons glow and launch in the dark
  • 6:30 am – Main Launch – Approximately 30 balloons participate
  • 6-11 am* – Tethered hot air balloon rides
  • 4-10:30 am* – Food booths, craft booths & kids play area

*Please note that most ballooning activities take place early in the morning. Once the balloons launch, there will be tethered balloons on site if you would like a taste of what a view from a balloon is like, but times for tethers are dependent on wind conditions.
