Amoeba Music Might Shut Down Permanently
S.O.S! Amoeba Needs Help To Survive!
A legendary record store and landmark where music fans of all ages and backgrounds find community and music reign supreme. Amoeba has weathered many storms since it opened its first store 30 years ago in Berkeley, but as of the current crisis, they don’t know if they can get through COVID-19.
All stores have been closed since mid-March and remain closed indefinitely. With no way to generate income, their savings are running out, with bills and rent coming due, and with a primary commitment to their staff, who they are trying to keep as healthy and financially sound as possible.
Amoeba is humbly asking for your help. The funds raised from the GoFundMe campaign will go directly to help with their immediate future and take care of their staff of over 400 to allow Amoeba to continue.
Please let others know about this Fundraising Campaign, which would be deeply appreciated as well. You may Donate here.
Though we’re dark now, Amoeba is still there, waiting for the day when our doors can be opened again to welcome everyone back inside to celebrate the joy of what moves our souls the most: Music.
