Thanks to the SF Chronicle for letting us know about Hal Wilkes, a member of the Irish Pipers Band, who heads onto his Castro rooftop every night at sundown and plays the bagpipes to entertain his neighbors.
He typically plays one song a night after the sun sets behind Sutro Tower from a rooftop near Sanchez and 18th. Neighbors from blocks around lean about their windows or head to their balconies to listen.
