Drink Steam Week 2017

Anchor Brewing Company will once again celebrate America’s first craft beer, Anchor Steam, with the return of Drink Steam Week from August 13-20, 2017 with events, drink specials, limited-release pours and happenings across the country (but mostly here in San Francisco) to celebrate Anchor’s rich history.

August 13-20

• Get drink deals on Anchor Steam Beer and giveaways at the Anchor Beer Garden at The Yard in San Francisco.
• Growler of the Week: get $6 growler fills of Anchor Steam Beer at the Anchor Beer Garden at The Yard and the Anchor Shop located at the brewery in San Francisco.
• Purchase a limited-edition Drink Steam shirt from San Franpsycho featuring a custom design drawn by a local artist, available in their online store and at their San Francisco store located at 1248 9th Ave.

    • Bring apparel you want screen printed. The San Franpsycho crew will be screen-printing a custom, limited-edition San Franpsycho and Drink Steam design created by a local artist.
• Drink Steam with Wood Thumb
  • Location: Wood Thumb, 354 5^th Street in SF
  • Time: 6:30-9pm
  • Event Details:
    • Anchor Brewing and Wood Thumb  present an evening of San Francisco craftsmanship with woodworking and Anchor Steam Beer
    • For all our beer-lovers out there, create your own wooden six pack carrier with attached bottle opener. Transport your favorite Anchor brews around town in sustainable, handmade style
    • During this 2.5-hour workshop, Christopher, Wood Thumb founder, will teach you how to use basic woodworking tools to create one of Wood Thumb’s best selling products. Plus, you will have the opportunity to discover their amazing studio while enjoying a cool atmosphere.
    • $68 – All-inclusive ticket includes workshop, all materials/tools needed, and beer.

    • Come see where the brewing magic happens. Hop on the Drink SF Beer Shuttle and stop at Anchor Brewing, San Francisco’s original since 1896.
    • Meet the brewers at the Beer Education Station and learn about Anchor’s unique brewing process.
    • Brewers panel featuring Anchor’s Head Brewer and Research & Development Manager, starting at 7:30pm
    • Taste the freshest Anchor Steam straight from the source, as well as new and limited release beers.
    • Take a self-guided tour and see the brewhouse, open fermentation, and the hop room.
• Drink Steam & Make Stuff with Workshop SF
  • Location: Zeitgeist
  • Time: 6-9pm

    • Come #DrinkSteam and make stuff with Workshop SF DIY School.
    • To celebrate Drink Steam Week, Workshop SF, one of the country’s first DIY schools, will be leading a wide variety of fun, free DIY projects. Come get your hands dirty while drinking an Anchor Steam.
    • Workshop projects will include:
      • Pinback Button Making: Custom make your dream button on the spot.
      • Himmeli Art: Create amazing, 3 dimensional geometric art. Perfect for hanging air plants or jewelry on, or just displaying on its own.
      • Block Printing: Block print your own cards, envelopes, beer koozie or even your jeans.
      • Kokedama: make a beautiful hanging moss planter, complete with plant.
    • Workshop SF has been offering fun DIY classes and private events since 2007 all around SF and at their school in Western Addition.
    • Event starts at 6pm and lasts as long as the supplies do.
