Elixir Anniversary Weekend

A free BBQ weekend celebrating one of SF’s oldest bars

Elixir and Proprietor H. Joseph Ehrmann celebrate the last 10 years of operation and the entire 155 year history of the historic bar with a weekend of free barbeque parties on November 16-17, 2013.

On Saturday, there will be a free BBQ featuring 4505 Meats. On Sunday, come back for the 10th Anniversary Hangover Brunch with hangover food cooked by former Elixir Bar Manager and current Chef Jack Andrews.

As long as you buy a beverage, food will be free (while supplies last), although donations will be accepted for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Elixirs History: As long as records exist for the northwest corner of 16th St (formerly Center St) and Guerrero, they show a saloon operating. It is probable that the bar is older than that, given the founding of the Mission Dolores in 1776, just a block away.

SATURDAY
From noon to 6 pm on Saturday, November 16, 2013, Chef Ryan Farr and his 4505 Meats team will offer up a celebration of their finest barbecue to go with special beers, punches and cocktails at 2003 prices.

Elixir staff from the last ten years will join the current staff in an all-day affair, along with invited city luminaries. The party will go into the night, but the focus is on the daytime activities, as they’re not expecting a lot of people to make it well into the night.

Food will be free with purchase of beverages, although donations will be accepted for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

SUNDAY
From 11 am to 5 pm on Sunday, November 17, 2013, former Elixir Bar Manager and current Chef Jack Andrews will cook up a selection of “hangover food” to go with Rum Punches, Bloody Elixirs and cold beer while NFL games play and the party continues for Round 2.

Food will be free with purchase of beverages, although donations will be accepted for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
