How to Experience Ramadan
Ramadan is a holy month where 1.6 billion Muslims all over the world fast from sunrise to sunset. Come and join them for a free evening meal, as they get together with members of their local community from all backgrounds, beliefs and faiths to break bread as one big family.
The “iftar” (the evening meal when Muslims end their daily Ramadan fast at sunset) takes place every night throughout Ramadan (May 26-June 24, 2017) in cities all over the Bay Area. On the final night of Ramadan there’s a communal iftar in Burlingame for the entire Bay Area.

Friday, June 23, 2017 | 7:45 pm
Yaseen Burlingame Center, 1722 Gilbreth Rd, Burlingame, CA
FREE, but an RSVP is required (to make sure there is enough food)
The food at Ramadan can vary widely; there might be kebabs, mac and cheese, samosas, biriyani, or even fried chicken. As long as it’s halal, everything tasty is fair game.
There will also be an opportunity to observe the evening prayer and ask any questions about Islam/Ramadan.
