Firefighters & Evacuated Homes Robbed During Fires

Thanks to Mercury News and CNN for letting us know about some jerks who have been targeting people during the the fires.

Five people were arrested for looting homes of people in Santa Cruz County who were evacuated due to the fires. In a bit of karma, one of the cars in the Fall Creek Drie area filled with suspects crashed into a ditch while trying to evade police.

The suspects were arrest on charges of looting, grand theft and conspiracy to commit a crime and burglary.

In a separate incident a firefighter’s wallet was reported stolen out of his work vehicle while he as battling a blaze and apparently his bank account was drained. Officials are still investigating.
