Start your day with meditation. With so much activity at the event and an abundance of information to take in, use this early morning session to quiet the mind, sit in stillness, and connect with yourself with the support of fellow practitioners. Open to all.
Friday | 12:45pm – 1:15pm | Kirtan with Sita
Sita Devi is a yogini, Kirtan artist and ecstatic dance facilitator in service to the divine. She teaches Bhakti Vinyasa Flow Yoga, a combination of hatha vinyasa yoga and Kirtan, the art of ecstatic chanting. As a Kirtan Walli, Sita sings and plays harmonium, guitar, kartals and mrdanga.

Magenta (Alyssa DeCaro) is an international teacher, performer, percussionist, vocalist, and tap dancer. Through vocal techniques and body percussion she offers a heart-opening participatory experience that weaves the tapestry of voice, body-rhythm and celebrates the body as your most essential instrument.

Using ancient Sanskrit chanting and the practice of pratyahara, or withdrawing the senses from the outer world, this morning meditation is designed to calm the breath and mind, with the ongoing aim of developing peace within. Simple pranayama (breathing exercises) will be described, followed by a guided meditation to aid practitioners in developing a peaceful, one-pointed state. Open to all.

In this YogaVibes-inspired community workshop, you’ll be introduced to the fundamentals of yoga in a safe and supportive environment where we’ll focus on the basic elements of standing poses, Sun Salutations, seated forward bends, twists, backbends, and breath awareness. Open to all.
