“Jelly Belly” Founder is Giving Away a Candy Factory

The “Candyman” goes full Willy Wonka for his nationwide treasure hunt for $5,000 and a candy factory

Thanks to ABC7 for letting us know that the inventor/founder of Jelly Belly Jelly Beans will give away a candy factory as part of the “Golden Ticket” treasure hunt.

Although Klein has not been affiliated with “Jelly Belly” since 1980  (Jelly Belly is based in Fairfield, in between the Bay Area and Sacramento) it’s still a fun promo – though not quite as cool and Willy Wonka-ish as it seems. And Klein should make a boatload of money. Each hunt is limited to 1,000 people, so if it sells out all 50 hunts, that’s about $2.25 million in his pockets after prize money.

You’ll need to pay $50 to get a ‘clue’ as to where you’ll find a necklace “gold ticket” which you can use to receive $5,000. One of the treasure hunt players will be eligible to will win their very own candy factory – a “candyman kitchen” in Florida.

David Klein known as “The Candyman” invented Jelly Belly jelly beans in 1976. For the past 55 years, he’s been in the candy and snack business.

Before he retires he’s launched a nationwide series of golden ticket treasure hunts. Hiding “gold tickets” wherein one winner will walk away with the key to their very own candy factory, plus more cash and prizes up for grabs.

How to Join:

  • Purchase The Gold Ticket Treasure Hunt Adventure.
  • Once purchased you will be sent information to enter our private Facebook Group for this individual treasure hunt within 24-48 hours.

How to Play: 

  • Each Treasure Hunt Game will have a game location and start date and cost $49.98 to play (this is the cost for the riddle). 
  • The registered person who purchased the gameplay will be signed up in a private forum. You must have a Facebook account. 
  • The day and time your treasure hunt starts, you will receive the riddle in your group.
  • You will be looking for a Gold Ticket in the form of a necklace with a tag that includes a
  • code you need to use to verify your find. Winners will receive $5,000. 
  • Gold Ticket codes must be submitted to TrickyTreasures@gmail.com with the location it was found.
