Muni’s “Butt Dents” Are Coming Back
If you’ve ever been sitting on a bench on one of the new Muni Metro light rail cars and the train comes to a sudden halt, then you’ll probably understand why so many people complained about the new seating arrangement.
Although the sideways bench seating means that more people can fit in a train, the downside is that many people awkwardly slide into each other any time the train speeds up or slows down.
Muni has listened and, according to SF Gate, the “butt dents” are coming back.
“In the coming months, Muni will also replace the slippery bench seats in its new cars with a “scalloped” version that includes bucket-shaped indentations for each rider’s rear end.” – SF Gate
There’s no exact date set for when the new seats will make their appearance. SF Gate reports it will be in the “coming months.” Stay tuned…
