As part of a wide-ranging updated reopening timeline for the city of San Francisco, the first tangible mention of outdoor bars, breweries and wineries (without requiring the sale of food) was announced today.

A tentative goal of “Mid-November” was set for the reopening of bars/wineries/breweries for outdoor operations even if they are not serving food.

Currently bars are allowed to open outdoors, but are required to sell a “bona fide” meal in order to serve alcohol.

Specific health and safety protocols will be announced in the next few weeks.
