SF’s Brand New Outdoor Dining “Igloo” Debuts
Thanks to SF Gate for letting us know about this rather unique igloo-style outdoor dining that just launched in San Francisco’s Mint Plaza near 5th Street in SoMa
Starting this week, the Michelin-starred Sushi Hashiri set up three seven-foot-tall translucent domes which cost the restaurant $1,400 each. Each “igloo” seats four people. Reservations for the igloos can be made at either 5pm (2 hour time limit to allow for cleaning) or 7:30pm.
“one of the city’s most expensive restaurants, but those who can afford the bill will be rewarded with a truly luxurious culinary experience.” – Michelin Guide
Currently Sushi Hashiri is open Wednesday through Saturday and closed Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays.
It’s not cheap – The 5-course Kaiseki & Omakase Edomae Sushi dining experience on the patio is $200/pp. There are also bentos ranging from $30 to $500 on the menu and the lowest priced item we could find on their menu is a Daifuku Kit for $20 – but it appears that outdoor dining may require the $200 per person option.
