Food Pantry Drive-Thru Helps 5,000 in Oakland and SF
Thank you KTVU for the wonderful news about the food distribution drive-thru held in San Francisco and Oakland.
Do you need help?: Check out SF’s Food Resources Map with free, low-cost groceries, free meals and food pantries.
With the help of over 200 volunteers, this past Saturday, The Salvation Army passed out 5,000 food boxes that were stuffed with produce and non-perishable items, along with a gift card to Bay Area families that are struggling because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
To follow social distancing guidelines, people would drive up, open the trunks of their vehicles, and the food was placed in their cars.
We close #NationalSalvationArmyWeek with genuine pride at how our volunteers and staff have risen to the challenge of COVID relief. We’re inspired by your commitment, and honored by your service.#FightForGood pic.twitter.com/2AlO1tlB6k
